FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) When does my hunt begin and end?

Your hunting experience can begin as early as 1:00 p.m. on the first day and ends at noon on the final day.

2) Are alcoholic beverages provided?

The High Lonesome does not provide alcoholic beverages. You may bring your choice with you for relaxing after your hunt.

3) Is there any refund if I do not kill an animal?

No. We make every attempt for our hunters to have the best opportunity to shoot one of our trophy animals and our success rate is very high. The fee is for the “hunt package” and not a trophy fee.

4) Will you assist me with taxidermy?

The High Lonesome has an agreement with Damuth Taxidermy in Brady, TX, that offers discount rates and excellent service for our hunting clients.

5) Do you have a range to sight in my rifle?

Yes. We have a range with targets at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. For long-distance shooters, we have 300- and 400-yard targets. We encourage everyone to spend a few moments at the range before they begin their hunt.

6) Is there an opportunity to hunt does during the hunt?

Yes. We can arrange a doe hunt on an individual basis.

7) I am interested in mule deer, pronghorn, and aoudad. Do you have anything for me?

We do! We offer trophy mule deer, pronghorn, and aoudad hunts in addition to blue quail and javelina at our ranch near Alpine. Visit the El Cielo website for more details! For trophy pronghorn, visit the Double M Ranch in West Texas.
